Epoxy Anchors San Diego
What it is: Hold-downs are all-thread seismic anchors usually 3/4″ diameter which are embedded into the concrete footing as determined by the design engineer usually 18″ and secured with epoxy resin. Anchor bolts are all-thread seismic anchors most for shear walls most commonly 5/8″ diameter embedded into the concrete slab/footing usually at 5 to 8″.
What it does: Hold-downs minimize the forces of lift during seismic wave energy. Anchor bolts reduce the effects of shear or lateral movement during the event of an earthquake.
What we do: Check the hammer drilled holes for the plan required depth, wire brush and air compressor cleaned, epoxy type, lot number, and expiration date. We will provide as needed; a CA State civil engineer stamped report combining inspections performed and all substantiating reports. If required by the structural engineer, we can provide an epoxy anchor bolt pull test to the values as determined by the engineer.
