Post-Tension Concrete San Diego
What it is: Post-tension concrete cables are long steel cable ropes, usually 1/2″ in diameter within a plastic protective grease coated sheathing. The cables are stressed to provide additional strength to the concrete which for one application allows it to be elevated.
What it does: Post-tension concrete cables are a group of cable tendons placed within the concrete providing compression strength laterally. Post-tension concrete cables which are placed within the concrete allows the concrete to be elevated as it has compressive lateral strength.
What we do: Check the placement areas for cable location, cable count, heights, secured in place, steel reinforced at cable live and dead ends. Also cable tendons within the deck are installed through columns and shear walls as required per engineered plan.
Post tension is used in concrete structures. They allow engineers to design larger slab construction like parking garages or high-rise buildings. Metzger Testing & Inspection has certified personnel capable of assessing individual post tension deficiencies and developing a method of repair. Metzger Testing & Inspection personnel are certified and qualified.
Due to post tendon deterioration and exposure to the elements parking garages tend to be at the highest risk. As most parking structures today are designed using post-tensioning techniques, the need for maintenance and repair is, critical to maintaining a structurally sound garage.
With Metzger Testing & Inspection experience and planning, we have the capabilities to implement a design and repair analysis for most post tension deficiencies. For such critical structural element, the repair should only be completed using a certified, experienced repair contractor.
San Diego precast concrete inspection includes flowable concrete testing at the precast yard of the following plastic properties: Ambient temperature, flowable concrete mix temperature, slump, unit weight, and casting a set of concrete cylinders for compressive strength.
